111 West 57th Street, the second tallest residential tower in America, is located on Billionaire’s Row between 6th and 7th Avenues near Central Park, New York. Designed by SHoP Architects, the residential tower is being constructed by JDS Construction Group in collaboration with Property Markets Group and Spruce Capital. 111 West 57th Street is tend to be the world’s most slender skyscraper and involves a Steinway building designed in 1952 and a brand new luxury residential tower by SHoP Architects.
The design dissection reveals that the tower will have a 60 feet wide base and a height of 1,438 feet – making it one of the thinnest towers in the world. 111 West 57th Street is erected in a courtyard surrounded by the existing Steinway building and is perfectly aligned with centre line of Central Park.
The development boasts 60 residential units with one apartment a floor and duplex with ceiling heights of 14 feet – giving a penthouse look to every residence. Communal facilities are planned on the lower floors featuring shared recreational spaces, a lobby and high-end retail options.
